
SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43
(By Senators Craigo, Facemyer, Unger, Ross, Sharpe, Caldwell,
Redd, Burnette, Minear, Sprouse, Minard, Kessler, Edgell,
Anderson, McCabe, Jackson, Rowe, Fanning, Tomblin, Mr. President,
and Wooton)
Recognizing the accomplishments of the Hannan High School boys'
basketball team for 2000-2001.

Whereas, The Hannan High School boys' basketball team had an
exceptional 2000-2001 season; and

Whereas, The Hannan High School boys' basketball team, which
consisted of only seven players, won more games than any other
Hannan team in the school's history; and

Whereas, The Hannan High Schools boys' basketball team won the
first regional championship in the school's history; and

Whereas, The outstanding season earned the Hannan High School
boys' basketball team the opportunity to participate in the Class
A playoffs; and

Whereas, Although the Hannan High School boys' basketball team
did not win the state championship, the team, known as the
"Magnificent 7", became the sentimental favorite around West
Virginia; and

Whereas, This extraordinary team, under the leadership of coach Wayne Richardson and his assistant, Charles Tolliver,
consists of Ryan Arrowood, Rex Holly, Greg Collins, Dustin Jordan,
Korey Henry, Jason Powell and Chris Taylor; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate hereby recognizes the extraordinary athletic
ability and team spirit of the Hannan High School boys' basketball
team; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the coaches and each team player of
the Hannan High School boys' basketball team.
